end of year, beginning of reflection

As we move into the last month of 2016, I'd like to reflect on how exciting and wonderful this year was overall. There were a lot of ups and downs, as per usual, but for kelly elaine, I'd like to say that it was mostly full of ups. We got published in a few new places, including Marie Claire Kazakhstan, HUF Magazine, and most recently, Entertainment Weekly. I love living in Los Angeles and producing photos for interesting clients who I would have only dreamt to work with if I'd never moved here (for instance, Capitol Records) and put in the work to achieve them. I was working as a photo editor for the NFL until mid-summer this year and was contemplating going full-freelance, but scared shitless to make the leap, since there are absolutely no constants when you opt to work for yourself; but then again, I guess there are no guarantees when you work for someone else either. A few factors fell into place to get me to where I am now and where I'd always hoped to be when I moved here five years ago, currently full-time freelance. To get spiritual about it, the Universe truly puts us in the place where we're meant to be when we're meant to be there, and I'm ready for it!
